The Budget includes a three-part plan to protect the jobs and livelihoods of the British people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure><img src=\"https:\/\/www.hotpatch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/08YUoDGT3CaZTJe12.png\" alt=\"\"><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"3b6e\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure\"><strong class=\"markup--strong markup--p-strong\">Key points affecting personal care businesses include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"postList\">\n<li id=\"9a19\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--p\">The furlough or \u2018job retention\u2019 scheme\u200a\u2014\u200awhich pays 80% of employees\u2019 wages\u200a\u2014\u200awill be extended until the end of September 2021. After July, businesses will be asked for a 10% contribution, rising to 20% in August and September.<\/li>\n<li id=\"01a1\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Support for the self-employed will be extended to September.<\/li>\n<li id=\"fbf9\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">As the economy reopens in the summer, the government will help people whose turnover has fallen by 30% or more the most.<\/li>\n<li id=\"dbce\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">The universal credit uplift of \u00a320 a week will go on until September.<\/li>\n<li id=\"821c\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">The National Living Wage will rise to \u00a38.91 from April.<\/li>\n<li id=\"3d28\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Businesses will be given incentive payments of \u00a33,000 for new hires of any ages.<\/li>\n<li id=\"acdb\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Corporation tax will increase to 25% in 2023. Only businesses with profits of \u00a3250,000 or greater will be taxed at the full 25% rate.<\/li>\n<li id=\"def4\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Small businesses with profits of \u00a350,000 or less will be protected by a Small Profits Rate, maintained at the current rate of 19%.<\/li>\n<li id=\"8e35\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Mentioning the personal care sector, the chancellor announces \u00a35bn for new <strong class=\"markup--strong markup--li-strong\">Restart Grants<\/strong> in April \u2018to help businesses reopen and get going again\u2019. Non-essential retail businesses in England will receive a one-off cash grant of up to \u00a36,000 per premises. <strong class=\"markup--strong markup--li-strong\">Hospitality and leisure businesses\u200a\u2014\u200aincluding personal care and gyms\u200a\u2014\u200a\u2018will be more impacted by restrictions when they open\u2019 so can receive grants of up to \u00a318,000.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"1f4a\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--li\">The Chancellor also said that the Government are introducing a new Recovery Loans Scheme as the Bounce Back Loan and Business Interruption Loan schemes are coming to an end.<\/p>\n<p id=\"8384\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p\">Businesses of any size can apply for loans from \u00a325,000 up to \u00a310m, through to the end of this year.
